Description: The Sequoia Parks Conservancy (SPC) and the National Park Service (NPS), Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP) propose to work together in the southern Sierra Nevada to build research, education, and training for the management of park physical resources (air, water, geology, soundscapes, night skies). We propose a partnership with SPC to expand existing projects with new topics to educate the public regarding air, water, and geologic resources in Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP. SPC and Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP will work together to develop and carry out projects for both community and professional scientists. SPC and Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP will do this by expanding education, outreach, and monitoring opportunities for Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP projects in soundscape ecology and water quality, as well as developing additional opportunities for education and monitoring of air, geology, and night skies.
